Droid Nexus One

Back when Motorola first dropped the Droid Nexus One I was looking to buy a phone. I decided I really liked the idea of open source and to many people had iPhones already so I purchased the Motorola Droid. I am happy to say that after nearly 2 years I am still completely satisfied with this phone. It just does so many things that make my life much more enjoyable and stress free.

I will list just a few of the things I love most about the Droid Nexus One. First is that it links to my Google e-mail address. I created a Google Mail account when I got the phone and now my mail is effortlessly synced with my phone. The second part fits with the mail account, but it is Google’s calendar. My father and I both have Droids. We also both work together in business. Our schedules can get very hectic at times. We set up Google Calendars that we share with each other and from the phone or the web can update the calendar which syncs to each other’s phone. We can now see exactly what the other has planned for the day. The third thing I love is the GPs navigation, which has saved me so many times when lost or just trying to find my way somewhere. It has a ton of other features that are too many to list, but those are the ones that standout in my life.
I’m looking to upgrade soon and I’m trying to decide whether to stay with the Droid Nexus One style or get the larger Droid –X, but whatever I choose the Droid Nexus One is an extremely good choice for anyone that  needs a phone to help them keep their life organized and more manageable.

Casio fx-115 ES

To introduce one of this week’s products I must first tell you how bad I am in math. I am really bad with fractions and some of the longer division. Needless to say I have found a great friend in calculators.
When I was in about the 9th grade I got introduced to the TI-85. The TI-85 is a graphing calculator that is made by Texas Instruments. I would say that it is probably my best friend through high school and college; however this post is not about the TI-85. This is about the Casio fx-115 ES.
The Casio fx-115 ES looks very basics when it is sat next to the much larger TI-85, and it surely cannot do a lot that the TI does, but the TI lacks some basics features that the Casio excels at. You might not think so at first glance. You might overlook the Casio if you didn’t know any better. In fact, the only reason I found out about the Casio was that I had lost my TI-85, and was rushing to a test. I grabbed whatever calculator was left (the Casio) and ran to class. That test was a math test and I got an A. What the Casio does, is it allows you to input the problem the same exact way you see it on the paper. Fractions, powers, and square roots can all be easily input. You can put fractions within other fractions and all of the complicated things that can be so messy on a TI-85. I Love the Casio fx-115 ES, it has made my life so much better, and helped me so much.
Now I still use the TI-85 for hard graphing calculations, and other problems that it does so very well, but now I carry two calculators. I use them both together, combining both of their strengths. I would tell anyone who is not strong in math to take a look at the Casio fx-115 ES it retails at  about $18.00 and can be found just about any place that sells calculators. I got mine at Wal-Mart.

Emergency Pet Hospital of Collier County

2 weeks ago, my dog Tank ate a sock. Now, this is not a completely abnormal occurrence. Tank has so far eaten a sofa, love seat, table, a frog, and 12 socks. Normally when he eats socks he will eventually get them to come back up out of his system, and everything is fine. This time however, when tank tried to get the sock out he was unable
This leads me to this week’s company. The Emergency Pet Hospital of Collier County, My fiancĂ© and I have recently moved Naples from Ft. Lauderdale so we were not sure where to go or who to trust. We choose this vet simply out of convenience because of location, and lucked out. .
When it comes to animals, they get expensive, and anytime you have to go to an emergency vet you can see the money burning in front of you. All of this aside, the staff and the doctors at this vet were as nice as they come; the service they provided was great. They were very considerate and had a lot of patience for all of our questions.
Tank ended up needing surgery to remove the sock, and the vets did a very great job. Tank has now be recuperating for 2 weeks and is back to his same old tricks; however, we keep our socks hidden much more now.
If you live in Naples, and have an emergency pet issue, you can trust the staff and vets at The Emergency Pet Hospital of Collier County.

LA FITNESS

You probably already know who and what LA Fitness is, but in case you do not, I would like to fill you in. LA fitness is a nationwide gym. It offers its member the ability to use not only the gym in their immediate area, but all the other gyms in the United States as well. For instance let us say I decide to take trip to Orlando I can use that La Fitness as if it were my own. The gym offers a wide variety of amenities at a very low cost. A membership is only 30.00 a month. If you are looking to workout, I would suggest looking into LA Fitness. You may find cheaper gyms, but I doubt they will offer all the benefits and convenience of LA FITNESS

Steam Wizard

I want to share with you my experience with the Sharper Image Steam Wizard. This product is an All-in-One tool used to removed stains and soils in carpet and upholstery. I cannot remember exactly what I paid for the Wizard but it was not cheap. I did look on E-bay and found one used though for only $45.00. Well I want to say that I’m actually quite satisfied with this product. Now it is not the end all miracle working machine, but it has saved me many times in the case of pet pee-pee.
Many times my dogs decide to mark what they believe is “Their” Territory on my carpet. They try to do it in a sneaky manner when I’m not looking. Later when I walk around the house and see it I run for the Wizard. A quick fill of the tank and a short warm up get the tool in action.
   It has 3 settings:
1)      Spray for a steaming hot light spray of water.
2)      Stream which gives a heavier dose of steam water,
3)      Vacuum which does the obvious and sucks up the dirty water
I will generally use the stream setting and apply the steam in third or half tank amounts vacuuming in between. The trick is to soak the area very well and immediately vacuum very well. You would be surprised how well it can work. It won’t get everything out all the time, and you must be patient and sometimes do the process twice even three times, however it is my experience that it has helped me many a time.

Nike +

This post is about a product that was formed by two companies and has made a huge impact on many people’s lives. These people more specifically being runners.  Two companies who both provide products to the running industry saw the power of forming an alliance. The two companies are Nike and Apple. Together the companies formed Nike + which is used in conjunction with an apple i-pod or i-phone.
Nike + is a small sensor that is inserted in the heel of a Nike + shoe (which is marked on the front and inside). Once the sensor is in another piece attaches to the iPod or iPhone. The two parts communicate between each other as the user goes for a run. The system will track distance and time of the run, and if you want will audibly alert you to distance markers as the user reaches them.
In order for this to work you must purchase 3 parts:
1)      You can use iPod or iPhone but the cheapest would be
6th Generation 8 Gigabyte Apple ipod – $149.00
2)      Now you need the shoes, an inexpensive starter pair might be
Men -LIVESTRONG Lunarfly+ 2 Men’s Running Shoe    $80.00
Women – LunarElite+ 2 Women’s Running Shoe    $100.00
3)      Finally you need the sensor
Nike+ Sport Carrying Case    $19.99
Together all of this will cost right around $200.00 - $ 300.00. That’s a lot of money, however most people may own some parts already and therefore the cost will not be incurred all at once. To a runner this system is truly awesome. To be able to listen to your music and get feedback about your running during your run is very motivating and valuable.  I would suggest this product if you like to run.

Gateway FX6840

I want to tell everyone this time about my new  Gateway computer. I have had it now for a few months and I have got to say it is a great computer. I had originally been looking at the Hewlett-Packard and the Dell computers, but after seeing the Gateway I decided to change my mind. This is the computer I bought:
Gateway FX6840-15e
Intel Core i7 870 processor
8 GB DDR3 memory
ATI Radeon HD5750 Graphics – 1GB GDDRS V RAM
1 Terabyte hard drive
Super Multi DVD +/- RW optical drive
5.1 channel high-definition audio

The biggest reason I choose to go with the gateway is that it offered the same specifications as the other computer brands, but was $100.00 dollars cheaper. I actually almost didn’t even see it because one had just sold and they hadn’t brought another one to the floor yet.  I am extremely pleased with the Gateway.
